Daily Duo

Aveda Sunscreen and body oil

The Aveda light guard and the all sensitive body formula are gifted.

The summer in Copenhagen seems to be never-ending and it’s been extremely warm, which is quite the challenge for me. 25 degrees is perfect – more than that is a ‘no thank you’ from me. This Aveda duo has been a constant companion the last few weeks – sunscreen and extra gentle body oil.

Aveda daily light guard defense fluid spf 30 is a sheer weightless defense against the elements that damage skin – a non-chemical 100% mineral derived sunscreen technology. It contains kukui seed oil which helps strengthen skin’s natural environmental barrier, while an anti-oxidant blend with ginger extracts helps defend against free radical damage. It also contains Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide that physically block the sun’s radiation by forming a barrier that sits on top of your skin.
The small bottle takes up no space in your straw bag and the formula is not greasy and sinks in immediately, so shake well and smooth onto face and décolleté – a little goes a long way.

I love that Aveda is committed to caring for the planet. They focus on responsible packaging and manufacturing, it’s a cruelty-free brand that do never test on animals and are mindful of their environmental footprint. This bottle is made partly from bioplastic which is 96% plant-derived and the carton is made from 100% post-consumer fiber. The carton for the oil is 90%post-consumer recycled fiber.

When I step out of the shower at night the Aveda all sensitive body formula goes on everywhere. The lightweight extra-gentle certified organic oil contains sunflower, safflower and evening primrose oils that nourish and conditions sensitive skin. It’s fragrance free, goes on smoothly and absorbs instantly and you can mix it with your bodylotion or pour a few drops into your bathwater if you have a tub. My hair is very fine so I don’t really experiment with putting oil into my hair, but supposedly you can work a small amount into your scalp as a treatment if you suffer from dry scalp.Speaking of oil – did you read my post on the Aveda Awakening Ritual? The best way to start your day.
