The renovation of my bathroom has finally begun and while everything is a total mess and not picture worthy, I thought I’d share some of the inspiration I have been looking at. If only I didn’t have a budget to worry about but that’s not the case. But nevertheless I think it’s going to look amazing when it’s done. I’m, to no ones surprise I guess, going for a very light and minimal space. A clean, simple and warm space that you can do hours of home spa in. I’m opting for something timeless as it needs to last for years without feeling outdated. A bathroom makeover is apparently very expensive and takes hours. I guess it would have been better not to do it during summer holiday season but nevertheless – it’s being done and that’s the most important. My building is very old so I have come across quite a lot of not so pleasant surprises, like some illegal electrical work and stuff like that. Also I think there are no straight lines at all in that room, which you can really see when you tear everything down. But I’m calling it charm. I’m going for a simple colour palette of white, greyish beige and cream. A serene and calm bathroom with fluffy towels to hug you when you step out of the shower.
There are so many though choices to make – sink choices, curtain options, the perfect lighting and a vanity with enough space for my many beauty products. The colour for the walls and the ceiling has been my biggest headache, but after 8 different colour swatches, I finally settled on the perfect nuance. I can’t wait until it’s done and I’m able to show you the final result of my bathroom makeover – it will be a few weeks, so stay tuned.
