Backstage Beauty – Acne Studios

At the Palais Du Tokyo in Paris Mac Cosmetics Key Makeup artist Diane Kendal is telling me about the inspiration for the Acne Studios spring 2015 look. “The inspiration is raw beauty. Johnny showed me a picture of a girl that inspired him a lot and she had this look as if she had just bitten her lip. And that was actually it. I created the look based on that. Natural, raw and fresh.” Diane says. This is how you get the look:

Skin: “Moist your skin well and then use Studio Finish Concealer where needed for light coverage – keep the look raw so don’t use too much. Powder with Blot Powder through the T Zone.”

Eyes:: “Brush brows upwards to create a feathery effect and set them with clear brow gel. Dab a fine layer of lip conditioner on the eyelids for light shine.”

Lips: “Press Freshbrew lipstick from centre of lips and outwards. Mix Russian Red and Hang Up lipstick and apply to the centre of the lip to create a stain – make it look look like you just bit a cherry.”

Cheeks: “Apply Taupe lipstick under the cheekbone with your fingers for a subtle contoured look. The colour is warm and blends in beautiful so the look stays natural.”

I also went backstage at the Chloé show – see more on that here. Next up in Backstage Beauty is Kenzo so stay tuned.
