January is my least favourite month of the entire year. Even though we have been blessed with a bit of sun this past week, the days are short, it’s windy and cold and all I want to do is curl up in bed and watch Netflix. An easy way to enjoy the dark hours more is to delve into some self-care. For me that means at home spa in my almost new bathroom. A space I enjoy so much more since renovating it last year. It’s a lot more serene and it’s easy to spend time nourishing your body and mind in a comfortable space. So slow down and use your weekends relaxing and getting ready for a new week.
This duo are the key products of my January edition of Sunday self-care routine. I love a scented candle and this one from Byredo is a favourite of mine. “From the starched collar of a cotton poplin shirt to the faint crease left when you unfold a linen pillowcase. White fabric woven with notes of chamomile, luminous cedar and tender musk. And, behind this comforting, almost downy vapour, lies the metallic and invisible sting of the iron”, Byredo writes about their ‘Cotton Poplin’ bougie parfumée. It fills my bathroom with a crisp clean cotton scent. So fresh. After showering with this amazing body cleanser I use this light and vitamin rich mango and black pepper body sufflé from Amazing Space. Hydrating, softening body care with a creamy, featherlight consistency of soufflé. A blend of rose flower water, virgin coconut oil and a high content of vitamin A that refines and tightens skin. It smells great and it sinks in fast so I can wear my new silky soft kimono. So ready for a day of Sunday self-care. Enjoy your Sunday.
