The No-makeup Makeup
The much loved No-makeup Makeup. In this heat I pretty much don’t bother putting on makeup as it literally melts anyways. I do make an exception when going out though and when that happens, I go for natural no-makeup makeup. That still requires some products if I’ll want to look my best. Fresh skin, neutral nails and maybe a dash of eyeshadow on special occasions. Perricone MD has a wonderful foundation named No Makeup Foundation and it gives a sheer coverage and SPF 30 at the same time. It fuses effortlessly with the skin to create a luminous, dewy glow and visibly minimizes the look of pores and imperfections. To create flawless finish try working your foundation in with a Beauty Blender – remember to wet it and squeeze out any excess water before adding your formula. Bounce the blender on your skin using the pointed tip under eyes and around the nose and the wider end on large surfaces.
Then I apply Tromborg’s Mineral Concealer that covers dark circles and imperfections – it’s easy to work into the skin and easy to store in your bag to correct during the day. To set everything add a touch of Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder that contain white rose and cotton flower plant cells for a soothing and protective effect + SPF 15.
On the wet eye line i apply Tromborg’s Nude Eyeliner for bright, awake eyes. It’s soft and creamy and made from eco friendly wood with a biodegradable cap. Finally I finish off with Løwén Beyond – Volume & Curl Mascara – it’s allergy friendly and contains ingredients that act like a serum to help your lashes stay long and strong. For a night out I’ll go with RMS Eye Polish in ‘Myth’ that has a subtle glossy quality and needs to be worked in like you would a moisturizer. The eye polish doubles as an eye cream to nourish and moisturize and does not emphasize fine lines. ‘Myth’ is a pale browny taupe and has a subtle sheer shimmer. Another option is the Kjær Weis ‘Magnetic’ Eye Shadow which is a brownish-gold that is very flattering to all skin tones and eye colours. It’s certified organic and also vegan, gluten free, cruelty free and contains no artificial ingredients such as petroleum’s, parabens or fragrance.
My nails are natural most days or painted nude and my new favourite polish is ‘Honesty’ from Nailberry – a creamy dark beige. L’Oxygéné is Nailberry’s multi-award winning nail polish range that uses patented technology to deliver a healthier manicure. It’s 12 free which means it’s formulated to be free from Phthalates, Formaldehyde, Alcohol, Parabens, Animal Derivatives, Gluten and much more. The lacquer is breathable which means the colour film allows air and water vapour to pass through it, making sure your natural nail is respected when wearing colour.
I always have my hair up when doing my makeup and I love these tiny Invisibobble hair ties – I off course chose the ‘To Be Or Nude To Be’ shade.
Good luck with your no-makeup Makeup.
