N01 Chair by Nendo
Japanese Nendo, with Oki Sato as head of design, has designed a solid wood chair for Fritz Hansen named N01. Created by merging Danish and Japanese aesthetics and purity this seamless puzzle-like assembly of 23 wooden pieces is a mix of solid wood and veneer all produced by hand.
For the first time in 61 years, since Arne Jacobsen’s Grand Prix chair, Fritz Hansen produces an entirely wooden chair. Choose between oak, black coloured oak or beech which is my favourite. The iconic shell design have short armrest that allows moving the chair as close as possible to the table and still maintain support for the arms when seated. Both sides of the N01 Chair have a gradual incline allowing a comfortable seating experience that feels like the body is embraced. A seat cushion in either fabric or leather is also available for the chair – I prefer it without. Super simple, classic and I bet it’s very comfortable. See more images of the N01 chair by Nendo here.
