The Konjac Sponge
Used by the Japanese for over 1.500 years the Konjac Sponge has finally found its way to my bathroom. The Konjac Potato is a plant native to Asia and has been used as a food source for ages. Over the last century also as a beauty treatment. The sponge is handmade and the super soft texture gives you an extremely gentle exfoliation. The sponge contains tons of vitamins like Vitamin B1, B2, B6, B12, C, A, E and D. Folic acid, zinc, carbohydrate, iron copper and phosphorus – it is ph balanced and gentle enough for sensitive skin and your eye area. It stimulates blood circulation and regeneration of the skin. Use daily instead of a washcloth – simply put the sponge in warm water and let it soak for about 3-5 minutes and then gently massage face, neck and décolleté in circular motions. If you want to use your normal cleansing product with the sponge for a deeper cleanse, you can – just only add half of the amount you would normally use. Each sponge has a little string that allows you to hang it to dry after use. You can use the sponge for about three months if you remember to sterilise it with boiling water once a week, which is ok as it is quite inexpensive. The white one is natural, the green one is with green tea and the black is charcoal. The one I use is from Karmameju and you can buy it here.
